New Beginnings

Every day is a new start. That's what makes life worth living. If you can't wake up to find the slate clean and a new day ready for the making, what's the point in waking up in the morning? Why get up at all if all you have to look forward to are the culminations of Yesterday's Mistakes?
Why indeed?
But each day is a new day, a new chance, a new beginning, a new collection of opportunities to make a difference. That's what makes it worthwhile to get out of bed in the morning, that is what makes all of life worthwhile. Savor each new day, breathe it in and slowly exhale the first good breath of the day. Then take another, and another, and another, and use those breaths to go out and do something, something that will make the day worthwhile, something that will make you glad for having lived that day. And do that today, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and each new day to come.
Sometimes we trip, sometimes we fall, and sometimes we even skin our knees or break our noses or chip our teeth. But even then, tomorrow will bring new life and new hope and new opportunity, if we only have the courage and the strength to stand up and continue to do our best today.
This world is the one we live in, we might as well make the best of it. And while we're at it, why not make it the best it can be? Just one hop/skip/jump/step/trip/stumble/roll/try at a time.
